He served in the Turkish army during WWI and was stationed in Palestine. He moved to America in 1921 where his literary career blossomed. In this volume, Levadi designed the title page and included a glossary of Hebrew, Arabic, and Turkish words that the author used in the trilogy. (Yiddish Leksikon, 2017) .
